The purpose of this practice drill is to ensure you gain some power from the poles rather than simply walk with them!
It is easy to fall into simply ‘tapping’ them into the ground but you need to think that they have become you new extended arms and you should be using them to push you forward and take some of your weight.
This drill will help you to feel the difference – it you do not feel any different when you lift the poles trips from the ground – repeat the process with a harder push.
