Triangle pose (Trikonasana)
Triangle pose is useful in boosting balance and stability and improving flexibility by strengthening the chest, arms, legs and ankles. It can also improve focus by reducing stress.
- Start with Warrior 1, raising the arms to shoulder height as before.
- Next, push the ground away with your feet as you gently lower the front arm to rest on the bent leg.
- Raise the back arm up to the sky.
- Keeping everything in line by imagining you are between two panes of glass, straighten the front leg then the arm, so your hand lowers towards the calves or ankles.
- You may find you want to look up to the sky of down the floor – you can choose as long as you form a beautiful triangle.
